Alfredo Maiorino was born in Nocera Inferiore in 1966.
His personal style of expression came to maturity in the Eighties during the “return to painting” period.
He won the 1990 national competitive examination for the position of Assistant Professor of Painting in the Italian Fine Arts Academies. The years of his professional activity have been marked by the writing of his art book, Hortusconclusus, and his interest in Art Graphics as well as Painting. Maiorino’s graphic works were included in The 13th Seoul-Space and The International Print Biennal exhibits held at the Seoul Art Museum.
In 2003, he held his first solo exhibit at the Studio Trisorio in Naples and he was invited to the XIV Quadriennale, Anteprima at the Royal Palace in Naples. In 2005, the Studio Trisorio curated his Il cielo capovolto exhibit held at Castel dell’Ovo in Naples as well as a solo exhibit held in the Studio premises in Rome. In 2010, he was selected for the Pandosia Award for Contemporary Art and the following year was invited to the 54th Venice Biennale.
More recently (April 2015) he had his third solo show at Studio Trisorio in Naples, as well as a solo show also titled Ri-velare at The Castello di Postignano (Sellano, Perugia) in September 2015.
